Discovery Work Experience Programme 2018

The 2018 Discovery Work Experience Programme took place from 18-29 June.

Now in its third year, a group of seven GCSE and A Level students from local schools participated in the scheme, experiencing a wide range of work-based learning activities across all areas of the company, including Project Management, Operations, Production, Design and Engineering.  At the end of the programme, all the students gave a presentation of their discoveries.  Both the Magnetic Resonance and NanoScience businesses contributed to the programme.

We would like to thank all the students who took part, and wish them all the very best for the future.

Feedback from the 2018 student group:

‘I now feel that I have a better knowledge of the world of engineering and I am more certain that engineering is the career for me.’

‘Overall, the programme has been very informative and it has opened my eyes to every part of a company, not just the parts that you see from the outside.’

‘This experience has been eye-opening and fantastic.’

‘The work experience programme was great.  It really gave us a good understanding of how the world of work works.’
