Cryostats for spectroscopy applications including FTIR, UV/Visible, Raman, Photoluminescence, NMR, ESR and microscopy

There are various models of cryostats for spectroscopy and microscopy applications and the model of choice will depend on the following parameters.

  • Cooling technology: liquid nitrogen, liquid helium or closed cycle - Cryofree®
  • Sample environment: vacuum or exchange gas
  • Cryostat type: continuous flow or bath cryostat
  • Working distance: there are specific cryostats with extremely short working distances for microscopy applications
  • Magnetic field: required or not

Cryostats for macro applications - Optistat range

The Optistat range of cryostats are designed to meet the needs of the most demanding spectroscopy applications. Excellent optical and electrical access, wide temperature ranges, compact design and best-in-class cryogenic performance are matched to an extensive range of different options to ensure there is a cryostat perfectly matched to your experimental requirements.

The Optistat range offer different sample environments to best suit the requirements of your sample, and different cooling technologies to meet the needs of your laboratory.

Cryogen free optical cryostats are capable of achieving temperatures as low as 1.5 K without the need for liquid helium. This brings significant benefits in terms of running cost and ease of use.

All the cryostats are controlled with the MercuryiTC cryogenic temperature controller which can be upgraded with expansion cards and can be used for level metering and gas flow control, if required.

The cryostats can be fitted with up to 5 windows (depending on model) to suit wavelengths from ultra-violet to extreme infra-red.

Cryostats for micro applications - Microstat range

The Microstat range of cryostats are designed to meet the needs of the most demanding microscopy applications. Excellent optical and electrical access, wide temperature ranges, compact design and best-in-class cryogenic performance are matched to an extensive range of different options to ensure there is a cryostat perfectly matched to your experimental requirements.

The Microstat range offer different cooling technologies to meet the needs of your laboratory.

The Microstat model of choice will depend on the base temperature and cooling technology required for your experiments, see the table below.

The microstats can be fitted with up to 2 windows (depending on model) to suit wavelengths from ultra-violet to extreme infra-red.
